Oktoberfest

This past weekend was a blast!  We had our own Oktoberfest celebration at Mary’s and there was plenty of celebration. I took some video with my camera, however, neither google video or youtube want to process it or I would share the goodness. Not to worry, you are missing out on the chicken dance. Here are photos of more sillyness…

Two Buck Chuck

I just popped open one of my favorite Napa wines. Charles Shaw, affectionately known in the industry at “Two Buck Chuck” because of the $1.99 price point at Trader Joe’s grocery in California.  My friend Stan turned me on to this wine a few years ago when I was spending quite a bit of time in Los Angeles.  We usually had wine with dinner and one night I finally asked if I could provide it.  He sent me down the block for a bottle of Charles Shaw.  I was amazed at the low price and have been a fan ever since.  I could rattle on about the nuances of the flavors and tones, but it is simpler to say that “It just tastes good.”  I am enjoying a bottle (oye- a bottle) right now while sitting on the rooftop deck and typing this post.  I haven’t even looked for it here at home in Colorado because I usually ship it back from CA by the case.  The shipping costs more than the wine.  Next time I am at Argonaut or AppleJack I’ll look for it.

Seriously, who is shocked here?

Seriously, I am a bit more shocked at the amount of foundation he is wearing in this photo than the fact that he finally came out of the closet.  Good for him in any case!

seriously who is surprised here?

Music makes…

Finish the sentance:  Music Makes…

I had a great day at work yesterday.  I was called in to work the Brunch shift with Jeffrey J. and we were listening to 80’s hair bands and other classic “Album Oriented Rock” on XM radio.  I think we were all having a great time trying to remember the artists like .38 special.   Even the customers were commenting that the staff seemed happy and were all smiling.  Life cannot be lived at 120 beats per minute, which is the pace of much of the music at Mary’s, I think it causes a certain anxiety when listened to at high volume levels day after day after day for 9 hours at a whack.  Sick of the same music at Mary’s- send an email requesting change, and include some suggestions:)  Click Here

I hear y’all rather like the bartender videos…. so here’s another:
